I have just visited your limeyyankgames site for the first time for a long time. I notice you have nearly finished an Albeura gamebox. Several months ago after tinkering around with different graphics and working through the cyberboard tutorials, I decide to try to make a gamebox of one of my favourite old games...Albeura ...perhaps I should have chosen Talavera... Is there a problem with CoA games as gameboxes? Steve

Hi Steve, How's your Albuera going (and why has it taken you so long to revisit LYG! ) I've just finished the map and the counter fronts and am now working on the back of the counters. Albuera is certainly an ambitious 1st gamebox if only for the varied and colourful counters. It's taken me many, many hours. As to your question re: COA, the best thing I can suggest is that you check out the last week's worth of posts in the COA forum. Interesting reading. I believe they were going to decide yesterday whether to support us or not. We've heard nothing yet to my knowledge (but I didn't think it sounded too promising). Andy

I am at about the same stage - map finished, counter fronts finished, just now pondering how best to do the counter backs, especially as some of them are very difficult to read and my eyes are not getting any younger Steve PS where is the CoA forum?

greetings
I am doing the gamebox in the latest beta cyberboard version - 3.7?
I have a question regarding the coalition unit designations - have you done any of the counter backs yet? - There are 5 portuguese units at setup hex B with a corps/division designation of 'C' - any ideas what the 'C' refers to?
regards
Steve

To be honest Steve I've only looked at the artwork - I've not looked at any of the game specific rules (didn't know what the letters on the map represented until you said) andso, since it'll be some considerable time before I do study the rules, I can't help - at least not directly. I would however suggest you post your questio in the La Bat section of Consimworld. They are very helpful there.

Fritz, What's the plan with the multi-player? Have you a list of potential participants? Perhaps a list of games we can vote for? You know me, I'll probably buy a copy of any game that's selected if I don't own it. - Hey, yet more proof that CB generates sales

The international multiplayer game is in the capable hands of Chris Fawcett; I'd suggested to Alan Poulter that he captain for Team Britain. You might SUGGEST this as well as he's able to alert the wargaming world as fast as anyone on earth. I've also asked for a letter of introduction to one Aaron Marriner who seems to be a multiplayer-pbem pioneer in his own right; have a look at Amarriner.com sometime. I, too, will buy the game if I have to referee (no Swiss neutrals have registered here yet). F2

CoA Albuera gamebox
Greetings
Well I have finally finished it. Can anybody 'in the know' tell me where I stand on letting other people have a copy.
More importantly from my point of view - and the main reason why I produced it, who wants to play a game?
If I cannot find opponents here where is the best place to go to find them? Would it be wise to go to the CoA section of the Consim world site and 'advertise' the fact that I have the gamebox and am looking for someone to play against?
Regards
Steve

Finding opponents is easiest, but not necessarily the quickest, at Accessdenied.net . Clash of Arms has been wishy-washy about GB's of its products; they're "amber-lighted" at CBDO. You'll have to ask them if it's OK to post your GB on the 'net or enter it in CBDO. Of course, if you do get permission, Andy will host it. For opponents at CSW I'd do a quick search through the blogs and period discussions. Fritz

Steve,
Please send me a copy. I'd love to compare it with my version - though I'll be gutted if it takes the wind out of my sails now I'm so close to finishing.
If you're up for a potentially 'really' slow game against a La Batt novice then look no further.
