Not too sure what's happening with this Chris. If you're organising it then count me in for any team.

Christopher Newell has alerted the French-speaking forum with the usual celerity and it would seem they'd prefer to wait and see what game's being played. Kinda hard to run a poll on this, so before I start bugging the rest of the world, could we start nominations and perhaps copy/paste the list continuously in this thread? Fritz

Well, at the risk of repeating myself here's the list of multiplayer games I own - there may be others - which I guess qualifies as my nominations. And, as stated I'll (price permitting) be happy to buy another game if such gets selected.

STARTALIST... Machiavelli Spies Pax Britannica (muti-p?) Diplomacy - what a great game - 6 Civilisation Kingmaker Dune (only 4 playes I think) Ironclads - not MP I know but imagine it'd be a good team game After the holocaust Conquistador (how many players?) Minutman (MP?) Republic of Rome - 6 Imperium Romanum II - 6?
Any "guests" reading this are welcome to nominate some games; I'd ask that you register and help out a bit, too. I'll leave it to Chris Fawcett to veto some of these and get a number we can run in a poll after enough are nominated. Fritz

Thanks Fritz. My list was rather conspicuous by its absence in my last post

Aaron Marriner, if you're reading this I've been trying to contact you about this CBDO business. My email keeps bouncing, so if you have time.... Fritz

The only game I have on that list is Conquistador.

I think Conquistador would be a good entry for a PBEM game. I just downloaded John Staunton's GBX for the game (http://www.hp3000.empireclassic.com/Conquistador.html). It needs some work, but it can be used.

That last post was mine, BTW. I didn't realize I was logged out.

Having the rules in that spreadsheet just isn't conducive to figuring them out.

I guess we'll have to have them scanned and posted for the players.

Can we do that Chris? If the rules are officially in the public domain then it definitely makes CQ a good choice since people who don't own it can join in. I can probably scan and post the SPI rules - are they the same as the AH ones? I'll OPD them so that they're searchable too - though I'll only do basic proof reading and formatting. Andy

I only have the original version. The game is old enough (pre-1978) to have the original copyright expire unless resistered.
And a check of the Library of Congress's database tells me that the game is not registered, so scanning and posting should be fine.
Whoops! I take that back. AH registered their version in 1983, so the game is NOT in the public domain. But the registration is only for the changes that were made by AH, not for the original game (very important distinction).
So...the SPI version is good to go. That's convenient, since that's the version we have!

"Conquistador" is an RH Berg design; we oughta ask his permission, even if the copyright's expired. A little courtesy, OK? F2
