It's that time, folks. I'll be sending out invites to all the publishers to see who'd care to judge our mighty event; if you have any others in mind, let's think about pulling'em in. I figure ~ 2 mos. to recruit judges and explain the whole business and 1 month to train on scorecard and do a dry-run or two. We can't bore them by starting too early but we also can't wait until October or they may have made other plans. As ever, I'm up for brilliant new ideas. F2

Recruiting of judges has begun and we'll do the dry run of the scorecard once we have the scorcard finished. One thing I'd hoped to procrastinate was the Awards Ceremony; any ideas when to tell everyone when we'll be done for the year? Think we can have it all finished by the end of November?

I guess the main thing is to have it all done and dusted by the end of December. The earlier the better, but that should be the drop dead date. Looking forward to the 2006 Cyberboard Olympics - I want to enter!

Just an idea Fritz, but should we have all of the judges use the scoring mechanism a dry run by all independently judging the Cuban Revolution?
I guess the only downside is that they'll realise they've scored incorrectly unless they award 10:10:10:10 ;D

Yes, Andy, we'll do a mock trial of "Cuban Revolution". We'll also do one of a Gamebox with a hand drawn map when Chris finishes the scorecard. I'm sure we'll work out quite a few things about the screening process, not the least of which is some commentary for final judging: brief notes to the judges about the Gamebox, including legitimacy, accuracy, extra effort, etc. F2

Some CBdesigners will get permission to use files supplied by the publishers; fine, but they won't be getting credit for having drawn it in the contest. .bmp's supplied by publishers (i.e. not drawn by the contestants) won't be judged into the scoring. Only work actually done by the contestants will be judged!!! F2

You've made my day Fritz - high praise indeed. The Cuban Revolution gamebox features a 'hand drawn' map. Glad I fooled yah!
