Anyone care to point me at debates on the topic of, or started by, CBDO on Consimworld? I know of the CBDO specific thread in the Cafe and of the general Cyberboard area.
There is a cracking one on the Clash of Arms area at the moment. Generally people there appear to support it. There are one or two people who have other views though.
I believe COA will be making a decision tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

good grief. I just sloughed through the folder for COA at CSW and all I can say is, fooey.
It appears to me copyright law has been insufficiently explained and far be it from me to go there. While at once I believe the companies have rights to their products, they are in a nebulous field which the best protection is to get as large a market share as possible, not to play protectionist games involving fictional rights to restrain play aids.
It seems clear to me that the companies get more sales of the actual product when they have fans and adherants who will produce play aids and encourage additional customers than if they spend all their time making enemies of their existing customer base.
Just my take on that discussion at COA's folder and no, I won't join in the fray (much, I posted something but just a vague set of things similar to this post). I hope the folk at COA join in, but I'm not going to judge them badly if they don't.
